The Friendly Food Club partners with early years setting to offer tailored food education and sensory food support. Our sessions can support the early years curriculum in many ways.
As you probably know, many young children face sensory challenges around food that mean they might be picky eaters or even refuse most foods. These challenges mean that mealtimes can be stressful or the child may having difficulty concentrating or taking part in activities.
Crunch and Munch helps you learn lots of creative ways to introduce new foods to your child. We bring the food, so you can have a go!
We can offer three options:
We can hold one-off, a series or regular indoor sessions and can also attend outdoor events.
We provide everything, from our experienced tutors and helpers to equipment, ingredients and induction hobs. All you need to provide is space, tables, washing facilities, and participants!
This session is best run with helpers from the setting working with children, or inviting their parent or caregiver in as well, so that the learning can go home with them.
Parent's comments:
“It’s very child-centred, supportive and enabling for me to boost my child’s confidence”
“My child tried different foods that he has refused at home”
“It’s has really reduced the stress at mealtimes, knowing that they will try different foods"
Young children don't just learn to try new foods. They build their communication, confidence and self esteem, connections to others, and resilience. And they take their new knowledge, skills and experiences away with them to build healthier and more resilient families and communities.
Hosting can bring multiple benefits for your organisation, from unlocking new forms of partnership funding to opening up new ways to help you deliver your own organisational objectives for the people you support.
Sessions do require funding from your organisation. Costs start from £250 per session.
“The Friendly Food Club staff are amazing. They pitched the instructions at the correct level for the groups. Lots of practical demonstrations so that everyone knew what to do and all learning styles were covered.”
